Since then I have moved house, gone on draft 260 miles from my new house and started gaming again. Then where I am has the internet speed of a lazy sloth on sleeping pills so doing anything on the internet is now painful. Kickstarter projects have even begun! Since then I have had Heroes of Normandy, Relic Knights, Golem Arcana, All Quiet on the Martian front, Myth, Shadowsea and Dust!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iYoSdleNj8A/VKFxAW8WQWI/AAAAAAAAAlk/opoiMFojvuE/s1600/WP_20141229_13_11_45_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iYoSdleNj8A/VKFxAW8WQWI/AAAAAAAAAlk/opoiMFojvuE/s1600/WP_20141229_13_11_45_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
At my new club we have recently got a warmachine player. No one else plays it, they mainly play 40k. So as I am usually trying to push other games on them I thought it would be a bit hypocritical if I did not give it a go. So in the new year he is going to show me how to play. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So off i went to my local store in Truro and looked at the armies and picked up the ones I thought looked coolest. Clockwork Angels!!!!! Sold. However I now know I chose the most difficult to learn faction so they may be benched while I learn to play. These are the Convergence of Cyriss, not crysis as I originally thought.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They are nearly done but need all the glowing glass work doing. then to attack the rest that are lurking in the background!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Later. (but not as long this time hopefully!!)</div>

I played it the most and loved the grand feel of it. The game was simple enough to understand quickly and you had tons of miniatures. On top of the base game there was Armies of the Imperium, Renegades and Ork & Squat Warlords then at the end there was this one which I missed out on.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LG1fljmu3q4/U6__ymiDXSI/AAAAAAAAAkA/0RdxO1eJy8E/s1600/WP_20140629_12_15_28_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LG1fljmu3q4/U6__ymiDXSI/AAAAAAAAAkA/0RdxO1eJy8E/s1600/WP_20140629_12_15_28_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
It came out in 1995 just as I was discovering, or trying to discover, other distractions. However with the magic of ebay I got myself one 19 years later.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DXr49-EWYBQ/U6__y2_J8FI/AAAAAAAAAkE/CcQF6LSF6C0/s1600/WP_20140629_12_15_56_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DXr49-EWYBQ/U6__y2_J8FI/AAAAAAAAAkE/CcQF6LSF6C0/s1600/WP_20140629_12_15_56_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
Hive war is different to all the other expansions in the way the army is created. No longer do you need a company card to get 5 detachment cards. Here you link all the cards together through the synapse and theoretically you could have a never ending swarm but it would be impractical and vulnerable. I will explain how the swarm works in a later post.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G9qTRHYxseg/U6__y42LLwI/AAAAAAAAAk4/ZSuEvBXIBuU/s1600/WP_20140629_12_19_22_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-G9qTRHYxseg/U6__y42LLwI/AAAAAAAAAk4/ZSuEvBXIBuU/s1600/WP_20140629_12_19_22_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
Each card is a different colour to signify the units behaviour when out of synapse. Blue = rampage, green = hunt and red = nest.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ul7nBDpYliQ/U6__zIvJQ-I/AAAAAAAAAkI/g5F38zQboEI/s1600/WP_20140629_12_20_29_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ul7nBDpYliQ/U6__zIvJQ-I/AAAAAAAAAkI/g5F38zQboEI/s1600/WP_20140629_12_20_29_Pro+(2).jpg" height="375" width="400" /></a></div>
All Swarms start with a Dominatrix. You can place cards in any direction there is an outward arrow. A brief description can be found <a href="http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Dominatrix#.U7AG4vldW3k" target="_blank">here</a>. It is the centre of the swarm and a swarm cannot exist without one. As a white card it does not have an Instinctive behaviour and is a command vehicle. so always charges and has first fire orders.It also brings into the game wounds. In 2nd edition, generally, if something failed its save it died but without void shields it needs protection so it can withstand 4 hits and can even regenerate.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YKE_zvnUZuw/U6__zpecuMI/AAAAAAAAAkQ/Fh5TQlT5WU0/s1600/WP_20140629_12_21_02_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YKE_zvnUZuw/U6__zpecuMI/AAAAAAAAAkQ/Fh5TQlT5WU0/s1600/WP_20140629_12_21_02_Pro+(2).jpg" height="374" width="400" /></a></div>
Here is my Dominatrix, don't tell my wife, the model is well detailed and some nice touches. The six appendages give it that Tyranid vibe and alien feel. The tiny head show that this in not where the brains of the beast are.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5ltxxCu5rFA/U6__zxg24tI/AAAAAAAAAkU/lVeipvFN2b4/s1600/WP_20140629_12_22_20_Pro+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5ltxxCu5rFA/U6__zxg24tI/AAAAAAAAAkU/lVeipvFN2b4/s1600/WP_20140629_12_22_20_Pro+(3).jpg" height="337" width="400" /></a></div>
For the the brains behind the swarm we have this guy hiding up top. He is never really explained in the literature of the Hive war manual all we get is this: "This rider is a form of Tyranid as far advanced beyond ordinary Tyranid Warriors as Tyranid warriors are beyond the genetically constructed sphincter portals of the bio-ships."<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IlLnp8TlwFM/U6__0WXY3EI/AAAAAAAAAkg/uyhQLKJCAJU/s1600/WP_20140629_12_22_34_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IlLnp8TlwFM/U6__0WXY3EI/AAAAAAAAAkg/uyhQLKJCAJU/s1600/WP_20140629_12_22_34_Pro+(2).jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
Then we have the rather large gun which shows that the brood mother is not just a target.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JkeV-pulMkI/U6__0T2HYYI/AAAAAAAAAkk/k12USykZkJg/s1600/WP_20140629_12_22_52_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JkeV-pulMkI/U6__0T2HYYI/AAAAAAAAAkk/k12USykZkJg/s1600/WP_20140629_12_22_52_Pro+(2).jpg" height="325" width="400" /></a></div>
From her all other Tyranids spring. Next time I will go over the Swarm mechanic and how it effects the units themselves.<br />
Oh and here is a scale shot with a confused Ork Boy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R57RThdpxIU/U7AM8riyfuI/AAAAAAAAAlI/jxx6e7QRK3o/s1600/WP_20140629_13_53_12_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-R57RThdpxIU/U7AM8riyfuI/AAAAAAAAAlI/jxx6e7QRK3o/s1600/WP_20140629_13_53_12_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>

When the new Tyranids came out I thought I would do something different and non humanoid. So I bought a tonne of them and began to build. However as always I got distracted and they fell behind. So I have started again. So I have till September to get them painted up. And come up with a Hive Fleet name.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fX3XuD-anzo/U61X2hbUVcI/AAAAAAAAAjo/uIiUtIivMP0/s1600/WP_20140627_11_20_34_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fX3XuD-anzo/U61X2hbUVcI/AAAAAAAAAjo/uIiUtIivMP0/s1600/WP_20140627_11_20_34_Pro+(2).jpg" height="400" width="378" /></a></div>
So I have started with the Gargoyles.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-my00pAONRfQ/U61VYfh9hOI/AAAAAAAAAjA/pzomHoiZgKM/s1600/WP_20140627_11_17_59_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-my00pAONRfQ/U61VYfh9hOI/AAAAAAAAAjA/pzomHoiZgKM/s1600/WP_20140627_11_17_59_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
Once again going with blue, I have put Sotek Green and layered with Temple Guard Blue on their wings and Rakarth flesh on the body. all washed with Agrax earth shade. The Guns are Dwarven flesh layered with Cadian flesh. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AVIvoB5Wjlk/U61VZXtV58I/AAAAAAAAAjY/_FtDqWnwgSQ/s1600/WP_20140627_11_19_58_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AVIvoB5Wjlk/U61VZXtV58I/AAAAAAAAAjY/_FtDqWnwgSQ/s1600/WP_20140627_11_19_58_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This should allow them to be painted quite quickly. The bases are only half done as I was doing some test pieces to see how they would come out. However I think they will stay with a purple and red colour scheme.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y6Thpf6IOlM/U61VZJNq6HI/AAAAAAAAAjU/tbWryU6wS-E/s1600/WP_20140627_11_19_46_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y6Thpf6IOlM/U61VZJNq6HI/AAAAAAAAAjU/tbWryU6wS-E/s1600/WP_20140627_11_19_46_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">There is always one lollygagger.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TOg4djSPPGQ/U61VX3oSQbI/AAAAAAAAAjE/vUjP4zlzwLQ/s1600/WP_20140627_11_19_28_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TOg4djSPPGQ/U61VX3oSQbI/AAAAAAAAAjE/vUjP4zlzwLQ/s1600/WP_20140627_11_19_28_Pro.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
And finally here is a modern gargoyle with their old epic counter parts. As I do my 40k Tyranids I hope to also paint up some old Epic variants. However these ones were won off ebay and are painted to a good standard so may stay in Behemoth colours<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J8vlh2S935c/U61X2k72Z2I/AAAAAAAAAjs/du5uoKC4lrw/s1600/WP_20140627_11_21_28_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J8vlh2S935c/U61X2k72Z2I/AAAAAAAAAjs/du5uoKC4lrw/s1600/WP_20140627_11_21_28_Pro+(2).jpg" height="320" width="282" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

There is still some highlighting to do and basing to do. The face was hard to do as I kept messing the eyes up and so have had to leave it. The skin was layered done and I am pretty happy with it. Now the model itself is very nice and as my first infinity model I do like it. I was surprised with the detail in the model and that it survived my attentions. Although I now remember how easily metal models chip and lose paint.<br />
I may invest in some in the future once my purchasing ban comes to an end, however I have one house move and a job relocation to come so the hobby may take a back seat soon, Haqqislam looks cool. Anywhoo here are the pictures:<br />

With the main Mech done all attention turned to the technician. With the base colours done I have turned to trying to get some details done. I ran a stripe down her leg ME style with blue holdups and a blue top. The leather was done in a traditional colour with her mechanical arm support in metal.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I am missing a few paints so the highlight on the blue will have to wait for a bit and i wish i had done the white in bone first instead of a strong white. Next up are the skin highlights and the whole head area so she does not look like she is squinting so badly. However these just arrived from the Kickstarter so I must try and focus!<br />

This is my first Infinity model, I love the models but nobody plays this around me so I have yet to invest in any but a couple of the Bootleg models. The details on it are nice, the mechanical arm on mine has sheared off but is recoverable so I will put it back later. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started off with the idea of doing it Mass Effect style with the stripe down the right arm. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So a base layer of grey and metallic silver for the mechanical parts. This was washed with a couple of black washes to darken it as it was a bit light for my liking. Then I took no more photos till I was done with the Mech.</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Some random wear on the Mech with blue lighting and the red stripe.I dry brushed the mech with lighter shades on grey to give it some relief and a gritty look. I think the Internals could do with a bit more colour and variation to the silver. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZXTnOOEEnGk/U6Km88pZ8yI/AAAAAAAAAfE/d24Er36ughU/s1600/WP_20140619_09_58_18_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZXTnOOEEnGk/U6Km88pZ8yI/AAAAAAAAAfE/d24Er36ughU/s1600/WP_20140619_09_58_18_Pro+(2).jpg" height="375" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And so onto the maintenance worker, I am an engineer and none of my technicians look like this and I don't know where to start on the health and safety issues, she needs to stand out and so I am going to my usual blue and white. So all the base coats are done on her and requires washing with later highlights. Hopefully this will get done today. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Later </div>

However I seem to be opening more boxes than I am packing. In my spider infested garage I keep all my old projects that have fizzled out. However with the new Ork codex coming out I thought I would see what I have.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I6tZY4QxXpg/U6F0TFlp3XI/AAAAAAAAAeA/pUFzmOyB0iw/s1600/WP_20140618_11_54_01_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I6tZY4QxXpg/U6F0TFlp3XI/AAAAAAAAAeA/pUFzmOyB0iw/s1600/WP_20140618_11_54_01_Pro.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Also I am moving soon to a 40k dominated club so these may soon see some action. There are 2 Black reach box sets. Which is how these started as I gave the Marines to my brother and kept the Orks. I painted them up with Blood Axes in mind.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8paBO_oXhDs/U6F0SykYfHI/AAAAAAAAAeM/AAbzNg3Ytgc/s1600/WP_20140618_11_54_15_Pro+%25282%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8paBO_oXhDs/U6F0SykYfHI/AAAAAAAAAeM/AAbzNg3Ytgc/s1600/WP_20140618_11_54_15_Pro+%25282%2529.jpg" height="400" width="375" /></a></div>
<br />
I kept the paint scheme simple so that I would hopefully have an easier time painting them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The battle wagon has lost the 'Ard cover and one of the trucks with a couple of storm boyz looking sad in black. Now they have to go back into a tub for moving. But hopefully they will soon see some action after the move! It is sad they all they have to battle at the moment are the spiders.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
With the basecoats done and washed I started with the highlights. And as prophesied at the end of my last post my attempt at sheer painting would go horribly wrong and so it did. So I will have to hone my skills a bit more before I can finish this model. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-10GM8Z2AiK8/U5dtsIkG6XI/AAAAAAAAAZg/EjkYs6XLfeM/s1600/WP_20140610_21_27_30_Pro+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-10GM8Z2AiK8/U5dtsIkG6XI/AAAAAAAAAZg/EjkYs6XLfeM/s1600/WP_20140610_21_27_30_Pro+(3).jpg" height="400" width="266" /></a></div>
I have highlighted the stomach a little and re-highlighted the cape a bit more. I have also done the hair a light brown highlighted with a yellow. The face was finished with some eyes and pink lips.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BBg0nPK-Xu4/U5dt6lZ1rDI/AAAAAAAAAZw/Da1qUwRcajo/s1600/WP_20140610_21_28_03_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BBg0nPK-Xu4/U5dt6lZ1rDI/AAAAAAAAAZw/Da1qUwRcajo/s1600/WP_20140610_21_28_03_Pro+(2).jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
The rest was just touching up and covering up my rubbish sheer attempt so the legs are lighter and not washed no.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x0kqZv9xWLw/U5dt7NrLszI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/6iHfIYeEyeU/s1600/WP_20140610_21_28_37_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-x0kqZv9xWLw/U5dt7NrLszI/AAAAAAAAAZ0/6iHfIYeEyeU/s1600/WP_20140610_21_28_37_Pro+(2).jpg" height="400" width="281" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The base will be done later with the shoes highlighted and I think the glove is too bland and so needs something to distinguish it. The problem I have really with these models is that I have not got the game yet so I do not know what the board looks like. If I bae it incorrectly it will look out f place with the rest, so yet more procrastination.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Below is a quick comparison between the resin, on the left, and the plastic version. The resin has more relief detail as seen on the models right leg with the feather things but apart from that there is very little difference which is a good sign for the Kickstarter. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Due to the fact I have been put on a purchasing ban, due to a house purchase, I have realised I have LOTS of unpainted minis. So i have finally grown a pair of balls and decided to paint some Kingdom Death stuff, these models are so nice I am afraid of making a hash of them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So i decided to have a go at The Architect. A fine model with quite a bit of flesh on show and quite large mammary glands, the pinup label gives that away though.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-paY8J4FrwOk/U5NgqlwZlLI/AAAAAAAAAYI/WVDbvMkWzPU/s1600/WP_20140605_20_15_42_Pro+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-paY8J4FrwOk/U5NgqlwZlLI/AAAAAAAAAYI/WVDbvMkWzPU/s1600/WP_20140605_20_15_42_Pro+(2).jpg" height="400" width="276" /></a></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Random picture sizing does not help</td></tr>

<br />
I use GW paints, as I am lazy/have yet to learn how to blend properly, placed the base layers and gave her a wash. Now her little g-string bits were very fine and needed steady hands, however I have Parkinson hands and had to correct myself a lot.<br />
<div>

A gaming slump comes to us all and mine has been long. However it always ends and mine came to an end with a game of Space Crusade with my niece and nephew. <br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k9ecdWF7M1s/UyYpFQQTVnI/AAAAAAAAAVY/P4cunSA1Teg/s1600/WP_20140315_17_23_04_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-k9ecdWF7M1s/UyYpFQQTVnI/AAAAAAAAAVY/P4cunSA1Teg/s1600/WP_20140315_17_23_04_Pro.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Ah the heyday of GW boxed games</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
A good way to indoctrinate the new generation, also to improve math skills, to the joys of killing alien scum with steroid enhanced warrior monks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vieDmPf9wG0/UyYqaoHNNVI/AAAAAAAAAVk/UC1UJ5T6L9o/s1600/WP_20140315_17_23_15_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vieDmPf9wG0/UyYqaoHNNVI/AAAAAAAAAVk/UC1UJ5T6L9o/s1600/WP_20140315_17_23_15_Pro.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This is how me and my brother first got into 40K. it was an easy to play fun game that seems to be missing now. There is no gateway to Warhammer, the rules are quite intricate although they are easier than the early rules. <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wESGHS1IMoM/UyYqeySGMvI/AAAAAAAAAVs/SYBMEBQmTzQ/s1600/WP_20140315_17_38_23_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wESGHS1IMoM/UyYqeySGMvI/AAAAAAAAAVs/SYBMEBQmTzQ/s1600/WP_20140315_17_38_23_Pro.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The long hairless arm of EVIL</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Now I am moving bases and they only play 40k there so I have 3 months to learn and not be utterly rubbish. So I have got some Tyranids and intend to smash in some games to get my mojo back and learn the rules.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
However unlike here I will not have my 7 year old nephew to call on to rescue my ass as above. Also I have some Dystopian wars stuff to paint and play. And if you can get to play some Space crusade then do so, it is still a great game and fun to play.Runitsgoggalorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17051728251258984223noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7080996240560413645.post-7563549758353947422013-08-24T16:39:00.001+01:002013-08-24T16:39:22.171+01:00Guns of the Porte - Ottoman First ImpressionsWell after having got some games in with the Ottoman Empire I feel like I am beginning to understand them a bit. So I will give you my opinions on the fleet so far (not the individual ships!).<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WEi-5DOiW4g/UhjEaCShfDI/AAAAAAAAAT4/u5gOkXjEaQ0/s1600/WP_000219.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WEi-5DOiW4g/UhjEaCShfDI/AAAAAAAAAT4/u5gOkXjEaQ0/s400/WP_000219.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">HMS Sphinx's figure head.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
All your small and mediums have a DR of 4. This means your smalls are quite hard to damage but will go down to a critical quite easily. However the cruisers, armoured or normal, are quite easy to damage. And with no access to shields you must be careful. Good use of your Firtina is imperative. Which leads to: <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JgOTmoe1YIk/UhjHcZ0az3I/AAAAAAAAAUE/op7EuqTm31U/s1600/WP_000220.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JgOTmoe1YIk/UhjHcZ0az3I/AAAAAAAAAUE/op7EuqTm31U/s400/WP_000220.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Beware the French and their tape measure of DOOM</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
Beware the early activations. Your <i>Firtina</i> generators fog effect dissipates at the end of every turn and this can strand your ships, especially your Fettah cruisers who will go down quickly without that protection. Mine seem to be made of Semtex and I have lost one a game to a magazine explosion. The storm Impedes the opposition so hitting on 5+( your fog effect already does this so is of no use here but can save your frigates), it also slows them down by an inch and ensure that they have a turn limit of 2 inches. This all helps as the longer they take to get across the better and they are not so manoeuvrable.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-noo-m9-eO7U/UhjJWtwdD-I/AAAAAAAAAUQ/20GEimrK8M0/s1600/WP_000222.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-noo-m9-eO7U/UhjJWtwdD-I/AAAAAAAAAUQ/20GEimrK8M0/s400/WP_000222.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Sir those mines look awfully close</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Do not get too close! The Ottomans have great long range and middle ground fire power and have truly appalling AP. This is what balances the fleet. So do not allow your enemy to close. We are fast too! Well our skimmers are. with the exception of the Penguins and the Italians everyone will get more AP than you and our AA is very ordinary. If they get close they will prize you. CAP your fighters to your battle ship all the time, you will need them. However they must brave your guns first.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IrQbqrkT9KQ/UhjLStlPIqI/AAAAAAAAAUc/F3uaCtHA4Og/s1600/WP_000223.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IrQbqrkT9KQ/UhjLStlPIqI/AAAAAAAAAUc/F3uaCtHA4Og/s400/WP_000223.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">In amongst it.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Mines are great for area denial. Smalls have alot to fear from them due to the <i>Stirginium mine</i> effect. However so do your own small and mediums. Put them down and forget about going near them. I made the fatal error of using them as a screen and then attacking through them as a lone tiny flier recon did for one Fettah and got another crit on another! And the bastard survived! The Zuhaf is expensive for a small with no ordnance but they can pump out those mines quite fast while flying around close to your lines.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8gLc-0Ww7OY/UhjNjzHVq-I/AAAAAAAAAUw/DQkVMahfGB4/s1600/WP_000225.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8gLc-0Ww7OY/UhjNjzHVq-I/AAAAAAAAAUw/DQkVMahfGB4/s400/WP_000225.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Sadrazam is feeling a little lonely</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aMSI-e0D3uA/UhjNKXg5xCI/AAAAAAAAAUo/evY0CeFQX2c/s1600/WP_000224.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
The Ottoman damage output is high till the end. A Fettah cruiser that has lost 3 hull still has 8/6/4/2 broadsides with 2 re-rolls due to<i> Sustained Fire</i>, an FSA Lexington has 6/4/1/0. Any damage from your bombards and turrets is <i>Corrosive</i> so during the endgame with alot of limping ships those extra hull point losses will be important. All our bombards are fixed channel so movement and correct angling is important, the Sinop is not a fast ship so must be correctly positioned.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UO4qQ7OCSEg/UhjQEpvjrJI/AAAAAAAAAU8/qNZOCK2vvKM/s1600/20130822_195931.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UO4qQ7OCSEg/UhjQEpvjrJI/AAAAAAAAAU8/qNZOCK2vvKM/s400/20130822_195931.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The RC close in.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
So in summary keep away from everyone, get your fog up early and do not for the love of all that is holy go into your minefields. These are only my first impressions and I will expand on them as the Empire sees more action. Feel free to ask questions or correct me! For the Glory of the Sublime Porte!Runitsgoggalorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17051728251258984223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7080996240560413645.post-18429032930753778232013-08-07T22:41:00.002+01:002013-08-07T22:50:06.465+01:00Guns of the Porte - Bad Pictures of Tiny Fliers I am away from my light box so my the pictures are a bit poor, poor light conditions in my room. Oh and Dystopian V2 is out for Christmas with new boarding rules and air rules! Woo and Hoo!<br />

I however got destroyed but had fun and I am getting back into the swing of things. So onto the Ottomans tiny fliers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n5ZE0eYfuEY/UfVq8P3QSzI/AAAAAAAAAQg/Rfu-5nn2hSE/s1600/013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-n5ZE0eYfuEY/UfVq8P3QSzI/AAAAAAAAAQg/Rfu-5nn2hSE/s400/013.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
For these fliers they will be detached from the base and put in a more dynamic flying position. This involves a bone saw and patience.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oQkeynZtlGo/UfVsKJMBtqI/AAAAAAAAAQw/1Ept4m1lQEE/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oQkeynZtlGo/UfVsKJMBtqI/AAAAAAAAAQw/1Ept4m1lQEE/s400/002.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Ottoman tiny fliers, although in the lower right corner there is an RC interloper, ready for the operation.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2zEdNuZ-20A/UfVsuxyt2AI/AAAAAAAAAQ4/ffwRYl32G54/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2zEdNuZ-20A/UfVsuxyt2AI/AAAAAAAAAQ4/ffwRYl32G54/s400/004.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
A picture of me sawing stuff. This happened 20 times in between Civ 5 turns. I still have sore fingers from catching myself and it was quite fiddly. Eventually you end up with this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Llw2uTe2rPw/UfVtq3a1wmI/AAAAAAAAARE/BYu_ytWHkyU/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Llw2uTe2rPw/UfVtq3a1wmI/AAAAAAAAARE/BYu_ytWHkyU/s400/006.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Here we have all the fliers cut off the base and cleaned. The saw creates ALOT of fine resin powder that gets everywhere. I had to brush them down and cut off some edges but they all survived and are ready.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jYTv0Cju7iU/UfVulYmywoI/AAAAAAAAARQ/bAy1-VMQJyQ/s1600/012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jYTv0Cju7iU/UfVulYmywoI/AAAAAAAAARQ/bAy1-VMQJyQ/s400/012.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I put a small hole on the underside of the flier, with a craft knife, for the wire. The wire is just ordinary locking wire, easy to manipulate and cut. The wire is however tough enough to not bend when knocked.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TnxqBzT_siA/UfVyt2E3OWI/AAAAAAAAARw/N9ArFM4cK3E/s1600/020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TnxqBzT_siA/UfVyt2E3OWI/AAAAAAAAARw/N9ArFM4cK3E/s400/020.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9eMUjdCt7Gw/UfVv9hKVMtI/AAAAAAAAARg/0j_XpHYOEjg/s1600/010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
Here is a lone recon plane.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-800jT8x2TZc/UfVzSJpsh4I/AAAAAAAAASA/wH93bPcOTCQ/s1600/026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qm3QgTCe3Fs/UfVzRs37ScI/AAAAAAAAAR8/qq9HG0KQXig/s1600/027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qm3QgTCe3Fs/UfVzRs37ScI/AAAAAAAAAR8/qq9HG0KQXig/s400/027.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-800jT8x2TZc/UfVzSJpsh4I/AAAAAAAAASE/qfo_1ss0On0/s1600/026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-800jT8x2TZc/UfVzSJpsh4I/AAAAAAAAASE/qfo_1ss0On0/s400/026.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qm3QgTCe3Fs/UfVzRs37ScI/AAAAAAAAAR4/JQTYm0XHO9o/s1600/027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
The dive bombers, no torpedo bombers though for the Ottomans so no low flying fliers!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bMUGQi68C04/UfVz8N7w7uI/AAAAAAAAASI/kg8-wrWPuiw/s1600/025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bMUGQi68C04/UfVz8N7w7uI/AAAAAAAAASI/kg8-wrWPuiw/s400/025.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
And some plane old fighter planes.<br />
<br />
Points of caution are:<br />
<ul>
<li>Be careful with the bone saw it is easy to slip. I quite like the ends of my fingers and on occasion was close to thin slicing them!</li>
<li>The fliers come off quite well just do not blow the dust off your saw as the fliers are small and will go too, searching on the floor for your missing plane is not fun and leads to odd questions by members of your household.</li>
<li>When putting the hole in the bottom of your flier do not go too far they are not that thick.</li>
</ul>
And now to finish them and arrange into wings!<br />
<br />
Later..... <br />

This Battleship is a twin hull monstosity. The superstucture on top is massive and looks awesome.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oQKDlWAsyOw/Ud_KjWIevnI/AAAAAAAAAQA/W_l8aramUAk/s1600/007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oQKDlWAsyOw/Ud_KjWIevnI/AAAAAAAAAQA/W_l8aramUAk/s400/007.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I shall leave my thoughts for a quick over look post I will do later, first impressions only though. So all I have are pictures today.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5eoY61s7aQg/Ud_K_VyhwmI/AAAAAAAAAQI/SwGRZWttMNY/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5eoY61s7aQg/Ud_K_VyhwmI/AAAAAAAAAQI/SwGRZWttMNY/s400/005.JPG" width="400" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BYFMU16Kg84/Ud_LId7UGJI/AAAAAAAAAQQ/OstGdr-5_EI/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BYFMU16Kg84/Ud_LId7UGJI/AAAAAAAAAQQ/OstGdr-5_EI/s400/002.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Next up is the Dreadnought and then the fliers. I hate the tiny fliers and so always leave them till last. And I have no colour scheme for them, they are supposed to be Sipahis. If anyone has a good idea what uniform they had please tell me, as all I can find is that they had no centralised colour scheme. ThanksRunitsgoggalorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17051728251258984223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7080996240560413645.post-13674337627801529752013-07-11T14:08:00.003+01:002013-07-11T14:10:39.574+01:00Guns of the Porte - Fettah Class CruisersNow onto the first of the surface skimmers and the ships that give the Ottomans their unique look.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NGsBkK_lVvQ/Ud6sPq0mbsI/AAAAAAAAAPY/ksi7IdyucIA/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NGsBkK_lVvQ/Ud6sPq0mbsI/AAAAAAAAAPY/ksi7IdyucIA/s400/009.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
The usual Balor Brown hull with 2 washes of Agrax Earthshade. The superstructure is Dheneb Stone and washes of Nuln Oil.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gk4h_vm9_yw/Ud6s_q9uTFI/AAAAAAAAAPg/AX2ARDZJYyA/s1600/011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gk4h_vm9_yw/Ud6s_q9uTFI/AAAAAAAAAPg/AX2ARDZJYyA/s400/011.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xTiZxta3rbE/Ud6tGE_hU6I/AAAAAAAAAPo/cEpR_CcPqhg/s1600/012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xTiZxta3rbE/Ud6tGE_hU6I/AAAAAAAAAPo/cEpR_CcPqhg/s400/012.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
The dome is done with glazes, which I am learning to love as they give a nice colour to white surfaces. These were done with GW's blue and green glazes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FiD-NgwSKI8/Ud6thwJo1QI/AAAAAAAAAPw/zJGtAXV1rWE/s1600/014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FiD-NgwSKI8/Ud6thwJo1QI/AAAAAAAAAPw/zJGtAXV1rWE/s400/014.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Above we have a slight list to port. I think that the ships are still too hich on their stands and need trimming back a bit to really give the surface skimmer look. I love the way these ships look as a model, I am quite happy with the paint job too, they look so different and have real character. <br />
<br />
Later.Runitsgoggalorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17051728251258984223noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7080996240560413645.post-52622248811173280702013-07-08T22:29:00.001+01:002013-07-08T22:29:24.878+01:00Guns of the Porte - Sinop & Avci class Ottomans PaintedToday I got the first Domes and Minaret ships painted up. Th Aci class Destroyer and the Sinop class Armoured cruiser<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/005_zpsd8c5356a.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="400" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I really must clean the felt, cat hair gets everywhere!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the Armoured cruiser instead of the wooden look I went for an Ironclad type feel. So Tin Bitz was used and washed with Agrax. The superstructure was again Dheneb and black wash.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The domes, which look very washed out in the photos, are done with a blue glaze followed by a green. This gives a nice turquoise colour to them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here we have an unfinished part on the back, this is for the CAP all armoured cruisers have. As I have yet to decide on a scheme for the fliers I will leave this out till later. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Onto the destroyers. Nice small ships with two big guns. That is all, move along now.<a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/008_zpsc2046b3c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/008_zpsc2046b3c.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

Balor brown hull, washed twice with Agrax boltgun metal guns and Hashut copper pipework.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

The last picture came out very blue for some reason. These ships were a joy to paint and came out quite well with little faffing around. Next up the Cruisers which promise to be a bit more fiddly.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6qCyklOBH5o/UdnQPUxfo9I/AAAAAAAAAOI/PY9fdssSClY/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6qCyklOBH5o/UdnQPUxfo9I/AAAAAAAAAOI/PY9fdssSClY/s400/002.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
After painting the hull Balor Brown, the superstructure Dheneb stone and the decking Tausept Ochre I painted the guns with Boltgun and the pipework with Hashut Copper. This gave me my baseline. Next up was to wash the superstructure with Nuln Oil.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-M5_6GoDQ8Nk/UdnRRidrGXI/AAAAAAAAAOc/B_kuuppqpZA/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-M5_6GoDQ8Nk/UdnRRidrGXI/AAAAAAAAAOc/B_kuuppqpZA/s400/006.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-O6MudbiEc9E/UdnRAFhm0eI/AAAAAAAAAOU/n2CotRIF80s/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
This gave detail to the roof lattice and darkened the colour after 2 washes. Then came 2 washes of Agrax Earthshade to the hull and everywhere else to darken the hull and hopefully give it a wooden feel.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SkdHHQZ7-NM/UdnRmQXA5pI/AAAAAAAAAOk/VsgaSFTuBIU/s1600/007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SkdHHQZ7-NM/UdnRmQXA5pI/AAAAAAAAAOk/VsgaSFTuBIU/s400/007.JPG" width="400" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QVCau7nok_E/UdnSHXp5CcI/AAAAAAAAAOs/vg2shbLjD-k/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QVCau7nok_E/UdnSHXp5CcI/AAAAAAAAAOs/vg2shbLjD-k/s400/009.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KUJZjyBJTls/UdnSljrG1sI/AAAAAAAAAO0/-HyiUiCpnVU/s1600/012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KUJZjyBJTls/UdnSljrG1sI/AAAAAAAAAO0/-HyiUiCpnVU/s400/012.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then details were highlighted (guns and the roof) and it was done. It has the feel of a flying wooden barge to it which is what I was after. Now I will see if it carries over to the larger ships.<br />

If only the weather was worse then I would not feel the urge to go into the real world. After wracking my brain for a colour scheme I settled on a wooden look, even though the ships are metal and flyAnyway onto the pictures.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/001_zps68d6a9cd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/001_zps68d6a9cd.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The base colour is Balor Brown. This is supposed to be a replacement for Snakebite Leather by GW. However it is a shade lighter so I can only assume that GW hate me as SL was a favourite of mine. First they kill Flesh wash years ago, this hurt me alot, and now this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/002_zps4c3fdaaf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/002_zps4c3fdaaf.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
This is my test piece to darken the brown with some agrax earthshade. So It seems it just may work.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/004_zps7bbfd351.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/004_zps7bbfd351.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The superstructures painted a pale grey, Deneb stone, for darkening later.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8YCrW_0m-oY/UdVRKPBBNgI/AAAAAAAAAMo/_dOkyti1mPk/s1600/012.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8YCrW_0m-oY/UdVRKPBBNgI/AAAAAAAAAMo/_dOkyti1mPk/s400/012.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
(Or the West depending on your viewpoint)<br />
<br />
Hi all it has been a while. Life and work has curtailed all my gaming
habits but it seems to be returning to normal. I have been dragged out
of my funk by the Ottomans for Dystopian Wars. The look of the ships is
amazing and very unique in the DW universe. As an Alliance nation they
do not have access to a full suite options. They have a great navy but
no Airforce beyond Tiny Fliers and the small Minelayers who have no
gunnery options. What they do have are broadsides that make my FSA weep
at RB4, airburst mines, weather control and turrets that shoot
industrial waste at you.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-04wa9H05kx0/UdVSMOSQ-dI/AAAAAAAAAM4/90Dsjpi4X2A/s1600/015.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-04wa9H05kx0/UdVSMOSQ-dI/AAAAAAAAAM4/90Dsjpi4X2A/s400/015.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
So we get the Naval Battle Group. This contains the Battleship, 4
Cruisers, 6 Frigates, 3 Small fliers, 8 mines and 10 tiny fliers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wksm6eBjhLA/UdVS78P90GI/AAAAAAAAANE/wYHlMXX5etA/s1600/016.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wksm6eBjhLA/UdVS78P90GI/AAAAAAAAANE/wYHlMXX5etA/s400/016.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
As usual with Spartan models the majority is resin, the frigates are
metal which surprised me. All the minarets and volley guns are metal. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H65-StoVk6o/UdVTyUbHtJI/AAAAAAAAANU/iXUFAEzdwmM/s1600/018.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H65-StoVk6o/UdVTyUbHtJI/AAAAAAAAANU/iXUFAEzdwmM/s400/018.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
The support group is the other box release containing the Dreadnought, 2
Armoured Cruisers, 4 frigates, 4 destroyers, 3 small fliers and 11 tiny
fliers. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_xY7EjX4ur4/UdVUcnV7xzI/AAAAAAAAANg/QVYqgod8_Jk/s1600/019.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_xY7EjX4ur4/UdVUcnV7xzI/AAAAAAAAANg/QVYqgod8_Jk/s400/019.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Here they all are taking a relax after a little bath. Usually I would
say that I do not wash the models but last time with my russians I did
not and I had a few that the paint peeled off. It was more likely my
spraying but I was not taking the chance.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8OVKP1ItHuQ/UdVVEekA_oI/AAAAAAAAANo/_B1bp5Hnj20/s1600/021.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8OVKP1ItHuQ/UdVVEekA_oI/AAAAAAAAANo/_B1bp5Hnj20/s400/021.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
What i did forget to do was cut the stands down before adding the
magnets. The Ottomans have surface skimmers and here it is not so much a
skimmer as a flier, next to the Tunguska which is a flier.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7RgoLTc8-7U/UdVVsd69RbI/AAAAAAAAANw/lM3Ik2-hAZw/s1600/024.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7RgoLTc8-7U/UdVVsd69RbI/AAAAAAAAANw/lM3Ik2-hAZw/s400/024.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Here is the full support group undercoated. The dreadnought is a beast
of a ship and is very imposing, as it should be really. The Islamic
architecture on the ships carries through nicely and give the ships that
Eastern feel.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G7txZyxnWVc/UdVVxZTljUI/AAAAAAAAAN4/YSwe3bjyo1I/s1600/026.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-G7txZyxnWVc/UdVVxZTljUI/AAAAAAAAAN4/YSwe3bjyo1I/s400/026.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
This is the Naval Battlegroup. Lots of surface skimmers so no barnacles to clean off these hulls.<br />
<br />
So now to paint these Yeni Cheri so they can defend the Empire from the Infidels!Runitsgoggalorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17051728251258984223noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7080996240560413645.post-56925331850923295932013-05-03T20:42:00.000+01:002013-05-03T20:42:23.307+01:00X-Wing Blockade RunSo to get people involved in some X Wing my non local old Club decided we should pool all our miniatures and have one massive game. The idea being to get the YT 1300s off the board from one end to the other. The pics are a bit fuzzy my phone dislikes low light levels!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GbculhYzf_M/UYQFgLAgDiI/AAAAAAAAAKw/EAboe2OezuQ/s1600/WP_000186.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GbculhYzf_M/UYQFgLAgDiI/AAAAAAAAAKw/EAboe2OezuQ/s400/WP_000186.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The imperials can have endless TIE reinforcements. Now we had 4 players a side and only a few of us had played before so it was a slow game. Also as those of you who have played before may notice the YT 1300s are really a bit close to the end of the table, so it is not going to take long to get off. But you live and learn! This is just a run down of how it unfolded as it was too big to go into detail ( I can't remember it all).<br />
This is the stand off before the storm. The Ys are facing off against the Interceptors just out of shot, with a couple of Firesprays.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AkLy7oS7dic/UYQHe8M9MEI/AAAAAAAAALA/g6tOqnZn2KM/s1600/WP_000187.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AkLy7oS7dic/UYQHe8M9MEI/AAAAAAAAALA/g6tOqnZn2KM/s400/WP_000187.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m99T43e_VIw/UYQIslIASBI/AAAAAAAAALQ/W8GiHJgOITw/s1600/WP_000189.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-m99T43e_VIw/UYQIslIASBI/AAAAAAAAALQ/W8GiHJgOITw/s400/WP_000189.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--QujoYDFr8Q/UYQIG1TOUXI/AAAAAAAAALI/pKs0fheMXCU/s1600/WP_000188.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
With the left flank A wings ploughing straight into the Tie Fighters. Darth gets a face full of cluster missiles from the As but survives. All the ties try to shoot the YTs but fail to do any serous damage. In the centre the X Wings, bravely led by Luke at the back, attempt to take down some Ties and yet again the die are poor both ways. However the rebels get 2 extra victory points as Han solo in the millenium Falcon take the first shot so Han Shot First. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y3sQwqXoRkI/UYQLh_OTBYI/AAAAAAAAALg/UN2niBu1Zi4/s1600/WP_000190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y3sQwqXoRkI/UYQLh_OTBYI/AAAAAAAAALg/UN2niBu1Zi4/s400/WP_000190.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The general confusion continues on the left everyone running into each other. (this photo is mid turn!) <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cZeuQswmdoc/UYQMgJRW8QI/AAAAAAAAALs/NBC6uU9WTTg/s1600/WP_000191.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cZeuQswmdoc/UYQMgJRW8QI/AAAAAAAAALs/NBC6uU9WTTg/s400/WP_000191.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The Ys continue to ionise the Interceptors and take a huge amount of punishment in return. But the flying bus keeps on going.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8188qLQN_CY/UYQO9Q353OI/AAAAAAAAAMA/YOV_aoANDII/s1600/WP_000192.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8188qLQN_CY/UYQO9Q353OI/AAAAAAAAAMA/YOV_aoANDII/s400/WP_000192.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The Transports make a break for it as all the Ties and Ys on the left do some koigerans (?) and ineffectually shoot at each other whilst the Xs finally take some Ties down and the Ys take out an Interceptor.The Millenium Falcon escapes off the board too.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hCb9GZMpjMM/UYQQ8t1yFZI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/bzWPiaZpGFY/s1600/WP_000193.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hCb9GZMpjMM/UYQQ8t1yFZI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/bzWPiaZpGFY/s400/WP_000193.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The end as the rest of the transports escape. And it is getting late so we finish there.<br />
Big X Wing games take time, especially with novices like we are. It was a load of laughs and great fun. However it did get very messy with tokens all over the place, movement dials getting mixed up and people forgetting all manner of things. Next time I think we will tone it down a little and have smaller more vanilla squadrons. However big thanks go to Steve who put a lot of effort into the scenario and photocopying all the cards so they did not get all mixed up and each ship had its own reference sheet. Thanks!<br />

As a break from the Dystopian Wars stuff I thought I would continue with some Dystopian Legions. So lets have a look at the Patriot Armoured Carrier.<br />

<br />
It comes as a hard resin kit with some metal bumpers and bits. It goes together nicely and is really simple. as you can see above.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xq3P32UF3GY/UXhL8y0O39I/AAAAAAAAAJU/Kfwk0g0GeuE/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xq3P32UF3GY/UXhL8y0O39I/AAAAAAAAAJU/Kfwk0g0GeuE/s400/005.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">you can see some seats in the rear, unfortunately the turret is going here.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DrKn0sq6bzc/UXhMRTOdCGI/AAAAAAAAAJc/Q3mCMCBNUFw/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DrKn0sq6bzc/UXhMRTOdCGI/AAAAAAAAAJc/Q3mCMCBNUFw/s400/009.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">See, all gone. A bit of a shame really.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
So then after a black undercoat I put the basic colours down. These were mechanicum grey, dwarf bronze and chainmail. This gave it a raw look.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w6evRjj3m1c/UXhNOQhY7WI/AAAAAAAAAJs/cjYehFA7-q4/s1600/001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w6evRjj3m1c/UXhNOQhY7WI/AAAAAAAAAJs/cjYehFA7-q4/s400/001.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
The model is really easy to paint. It has nice details and good definition. the only downside so far is that as the track unit is one piece there are weird bits that are gaps between the cogs filled with resin. What to do with them?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LhLX7PXt2Rk/UXhOWAFjWxI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/r2Z3GuYM0Es/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LhLX7PXt2Rk/UXhOWAFjWxI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/r2Z3GuYM0Es/s400/004.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Washing the track with some Agrax earthshade to take the shine off it and running a highlight of Iyanden Darksun.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l-tWaExr0w8/UXhPbAFVcrI/AAAAAAAAAKI/VUnpg0kL4Po/s1600/010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l-tWaExr0w8/UXhPbAFVcrI/AAAAAAAAAKI/VUnpg0kL4Po/s400/010.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Aaahhh Flash.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Here I have given it a wash of Nuln Oil all over. The bright flash is not the best picture but I shall let it rest now and continue later.<br />
I leave with a picture of some treadbikes bits.<br />
<br />

Again the colour scheme is Charadon Granite with wooden decking.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/015-2_zpsfa891566.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/015-2_zpsfa891566.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Tunguska Class Large Skyship</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
These look like skyships, in that they are ships of the sky. It has that brutish look of the RC, no nonsense or superfluous structures here. <br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a> <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/016-2_zpsb6dfc3a6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/016-2_zpsb6dfc3a6.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
Big cogs and big guns. The metal work is done with Dwarf bronze and Boltgun Metal. Then given a liberal washing with whatever GW are calling the black wash today.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/017-2_zps95efc8a1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/017-2_zps95efc8a1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I went for red as the colour for the anti grav device, it is supposed to be a glow but I failed to capture that ah well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/018-2_zps413824ee.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/018-2_zps413824ee.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/030-1_zps258f3729.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/030-1_zps258f3729.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Saransk Class Medium Skyship</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
These follow the same design ethic. They have the Sky Ship look with nice fwd armour. Again with the Giant cogs, I guess this is steampunk. However they are nice models and are quite easy to paint.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/033_zpse0ea1088.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/danglokta/dystopian/033_zpse0ea1088.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Thats all this evening. Have a nice sunday!<br />

All that is left is a few stragglers, repair ships, sky fortress and cruisers. These may be a bit fiddly but will hopefully be worth the effort.<br />
