Legion of Boom - Painting the FSA Patriot
So I am away from home on course at my old stomping grounds. No better time to get some painting done, instead of doing my homework or anything productive. However my mobile internet is run by 2 hamsters in wheels, who I obviously don't whip enough, and my internet is as fast as treacle.
As a break from the Dystopian Wars stuff I thought I would continue with some Dystopian Legions. Last Saturday I went out for some tea, the loose leaf kind not the late meal, and some how ended up with this in my bag along with the aforementioned tea. So lets have a look at the Patriot Armoured Carrier.

Tomb Kings & Kingdom Death
As I plough on with the RC I thought I would go through my back catalogue a bit and show my Casket of Souls.
I love this model, even without the KD woman, as it puts the fear into the opponent. Especially my own beloved Vampire Counts. Those exposed units outside the generals bubble will get punished.
Skirmishers and light cavalry will get eaten by this and then it may jump around. Although the light cav may be isolated it make people jumpy by the mere presence on the field.
And then there is the extra power is provides in the magic phase, this allows you to have that bit extra over your opponent. Anyting & 1 is the worst combination, this allows you to add that advantage to dominate your magic phase.
As a model this is the Finecast version and I think those that have come over from metal seem to show the problems. There was a big gap on the skeletons at the back. This was one of my first uses of green stuff. The photos hide it well.
Then there is the KD model. I like KD models and the addition of the Preacher was just a way to add one to my Warhammer collection. I tried to put it as a dried up Liche Priest so painted it as a brown, dry woman. It is a must in my Tomb Kings armies although don't get it in CC as it still sucks.
This is the RC progress, wihtout cat, today. so much decking!

Sturginium Wessels - WiP Update
Well with the Cruiser still not clean I have started to fill in the gaps on the rest of the fleet but it is taking its toll on my will to paint. However my cat Bunny took offence to me putting my models on the seat (which is apparently hers now). Those poor sailors never stood a chance. I will remember them.
The roll call of the lost reads 1 Battleship, 2 Destroyers, 2 cruisers and a Gunship. We shall avenge you, by refusing to pet her.
Here is the work so far.

Next up is the decking and then tidy it all up before the great washing event. So much to do.
Oooh mysterious jar. What treasures do you hide?
Oh yeah a Warlord titan and a sunken cruiser. Maybe the warlord has been in long enough, since September. Really should fish him out.
Later.

Painting Procrastination - Models That Intimidate Me
As is often the case when I start painting I start to procrastinate to ensure I never finish the models. At My local club last night we got talking about different models and how they affect your view of game systems. Then it evolved into models you had but had not painted, ones that intimidated in various ways. So here are mine.
I will go through each group of models and explain why they intimidate me and remain unpainted....

Dettol - The Smell of Failure
With all the Russian Coalition ships sitting unpainted and accusing me, not vocally, of not paying them enough attention I decided to do a batch painting session.
I diligently undercoated them , however I seem to have done something to the cruisers and the undercoat cracked and fell off. I should have taken the hint and cleaned them then or hand undercoated the bare parts. But I decided to respray the missing paint. I then painted them grey. Then the disaster, CRACKS appeared and the paint began to peel off. Now I smell of dettol, a disinfectant, and I hate that smell, it smells of failure. And it smells, alot. But it is my own fault rushing.
Anywhoo follow the link for pictures of my RC WIPs.

X Wing - A look at the KR X Wing Case
With X Wing soon outgrowing its original box Kaiser Rushforth brought out their Bespoke case and liking their other cases I thought it would be perfect to keep the new ships in.
So lets have a look.....
Sir, it's quite possible this asteroid is not entirely stable. |

Sturginium Wessels - Lets Paint the Pesets and the Traitorous Black Wolf
So to get the painting back in full swing I thought I would have a go at the Pesets Class Attack Submarine and the treacherous hounds of the Black Wolf (BW).
Here I had given them a coat of silver and bronze to give them a suitably Steampunk look. I had also given the BW a blue wash. The Pesets torpedo turret is done in Tin Bitz to differentiate it from the body.

Sturginium Wessels - Black Bear Groan
Having been on a mini splurge for my gaming habit I now have a fleet of vessels to paint. So the undercoating has begun.
I have added ground forces and a Polish-Lithuaninian ally. So lets have a look....
