Stirginium Wessels - Sky Ships
So we move onto the Skyships for the RC. Again the colour scheme is Charadon Granite with wooden decking.
These look like skyships, in that they are ships of the sky. It has that brutish look of the RC, no nonsense or superfluous structures here.

Dettol - The Smell of Failure
With all the Russian Coalition ships sitting unpainted and accusing me, not vocally, of not paying them enough attention I decided to do a batch painting session.
I diligently undercoated them , however I seem to have done something to the cruisers and the undercoat cracked and fell off. I should have taken the hint and cleaned them then or hand undercoated the bare parts. But I decided to respray the missing paint. I then painted them grey. Then the disaster, CRACKS appeared and the paint began to peel off. Now I smell of dettol, a disinfectant, and I hate that smell, it smells of failure. And it smells, alot. But it is my own fault rushing.
Anywhoo follow the link for pictures of my RC WIPs.

Sturginium Wessels - Lets Paint the Pesets and the Traitorous Black Wolf
So to get the painting back in full swing I thought I would have a go at the Pesets Class Attack Submarine and the treacherous hounds of the Black Wolf (BW).
Here I had given them a coat of silver and bronze to give them a suitably Steampunk look. I had also given the BW a blue wash. The Pesets torpedo turret is done in Tin Bitz to differentiate it from the body.

Sturginium Wessels - Black Bear Groan
Having been on a mini splurge for my gaming habit I now have a fleet of vessels to paint. So the undercoating has begun.
I have added ground forces and a Polish-Lithuaninian ally. So lets have a look....

Sturginium Wessel Reinforcements
Got the Rest of my RC fleet through the post yesterday. And I am very happy with them. Don't know how they play yet but the models are nice.
Lets have a look then....

Russian Coalition
So after Collecting my FSA, although I have yet to finish the painting, when i saw the Russians (RC) I knew i had to have them. They are the opposite of my FSA in that they are up close and have lots of big guns. They seem an easy fleet to use as well, point forwards and get there as fast as possible.
The models as with all spartan models so far are excellent. Made of a hard resin, the only thing I found you must be careful of is the flash on the base of the ships. If you are a bit rough breaking it off it can take a small piece of the ship too.
The Small frigates are a bit wierd but are groing on me and the more I see of them, especially when painted, I like them. The RC has some nice little toys and it will be fun playing them after the long range fun of the FSA
However i am not impressed with the stats of the bomber. It seems like a bit of a suicide bomber as its stats are not impressive. Maybe it will play better than they suggest or as a threat that need to dealt with by the opposing player drawing fire to stop them crashing into his big ships.
Painting wise I am going for a dark grey on their ships with wooden decks. All the base colours are now on I just have to wash and detail.
However that is the fiddly bit!
Later!
