Saved from the Spiders - Project Ork

As I am hopefully moving house soon, again, I have got to sort all my stuff out. However I seem to be opening more boxes than I am packing. In my spider infested garage I keep all my old projects that have fizzled out. However with the new Ork codex coming out I thought I would see what I have.

Also I am moving soon to a 40k dominated club so these may soon see some action. There are 2 Black reach box sets. Which is how these started as I gave the Marines to my brother and kept the Orks. I painted them up with Blood Axes in mind.

I kept the paint scheme simple so that I would hopefully have an easier time painting them.

My only Mega Nob. All alone!

The kopters have suffered abit but being Orks it probably still works.

The battle wagon has lost the 'Ard cover and one of the trucks with a couple of storm boyz looking sad in black. Now they have to go back into a tub for moving. But hopefully they will soon see some action after the move! It is sad they all they have to battle at the moment are the spiders.

Gateway Games - Space Crusade

Hello all it has been a while. A gaming slump comes to us all and mine has been long. However it always ends and mine came to an end with a game of Space Crusade with my niece and nephew.

Ah the heyday of GW boxed games
A good way to indoctrinate the new generation, also to improve math skills, to the joys of killing alien scum with steroid enhanced warrior monks.

This is how me and my brother first got into 40K. it was an easy to play fun game that seems to be missing now. There is no gateway to Warhammer, the rules are quite intricate although they are easier than the early rules.

The long hairless arm of EVIL
Now I am moving bases and they only play 40k there so I have 3 months to learn and not be utterly rubbish. So I have got some Tyranids and intend to smash in some games to get my mojo back and learn the rules.

However unlike here I will not have my 7 year old nephew to call on to rescue my ass as above. Also I have some Dystopian wars stuff to paint and play. And if you can get to play some Space crusade then do so, it is still a great game and fun to play.

Size comparisons - Spartan v Werner Klocke v Dust v 40K v Kingdom Death v Epic

This an entirely unscientific ( Is that a word? It is now) look at the size comparisons for Dystopian legions against various other miniature makers. I have just intended this as a guide and that is all. The bases are slightly different and I am sure you will be able to see the differences.

Above we have from left to right a Dark Vengeance space marine, an FSA trooper, a DV cultist, A Werner Klocke and then another FSA trooper.

   Here are some more...
